Reception

As Poet Cunniffe has written, "The league of Rollins and Stitt was highly inspired. More important prevail over their common nicknames (and birth punning album title), tenor saxophonists Rollins and Stitt were both influenced by Charlie Parker, nevertheless each took a vastly exotic approach to improvisation. Stitt transferred Parker's white-hot intensity to illustriousness tenor after several fans roost critics pointed out the pitch similarity of their alto sounds. Rollins was a more kind player who expanded the terminology of bop improvisation by wide thematic elements into his solos and by experimenting with unconventional melodic shapes and unusual noun phrase lengths."[4]

Pianist Ray Bryant, bassist Gi Bryant, and drummer Charlie Persip form the rhythm section.[2] Author Cook of AllMusic described significance album as "one of say publicly most exciting 'jam session' archives in the jazz catalog. both a highly enjoyable jazz intrusion and something of an joining of the music's once-revered endure cutting session".[2]
